Write down while you remember

  • When and where it happened, and which lane
  • The other driver, their plate and insurer
  • Photos of both vehicles and the road
  • What was said, and anyone who saw it

Free · No app to install · No sign-up

How to use it

  1. Print this page. Only the card is printed, at about the size of a postcard.
  2. Put it in your glove box. Beside your registration, or taped inside the lid so it is easy to find in the dark.
  3. After a crash, scan it. Open your phone camera and hold it over the code. The record opens straight away.

What the code opens

The code opens nowaccident.com, where you start writing down the first facts: when and where, the other vehicle, and the damage you can see. There is no app to install and no account to create, and what you write stays in your own browser until you choose to save it.

You can add photos, come back to it later, and export a PDF for your insurer, a clinic, or an attorney.

Why a card in the car

Details fade within days — which lane you were in, what the light was doing, the words said at the roadside. The minutes right after a crash are when you remember most and are least able to go looking for somewhere to write it down. The card puts that somewhere within arm’s reach.

Print a second one for anyone else who drives the car.
