Your records. Your choices.
How Accilabs and NowAccident handle accident records, accounts, sharing choices, retention, and privacy requests.
Last updated July 29, 2026
Accilabs operates NowAccident, a free recordkeeping service for people involved in vehicle accidents. This policy explains the information used by NowAccident and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
- Accident records. Quick-capture notes, report answers, insurance contacts, medical or body-condition notes, repair records, costs, vehicle-value records, and attachment file names that you choose to enter.
- Account information. Login identifiers and account details needed to authenticate you and keep account-owned Case Files separate.
- Contact and feedback messages. The email address, topic, and message you choose to send through a public form. Do not use these forms for accident records, medical information, claim numbers, payment-card details, passwords, or confidential legal documents. An administrator may reply to that address, and a reply email carries a small one-pixel image that records only the first time an email application loads it, so we can tell whether the answer reached you. We do not store an IP address or device identifier for this receipt, and email applications that block remote images simply leave it unrecorded.
Where records are stored
Drafts and selected evidence may be held in local browser storage on your device before you save. When a signed-in user explicitly chooses to save, the selected Case File data is sent to the NowAccident server. A Case File is not shared merely because it is saved.
How information is used
We use information to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and support the service; save records at your direction; create fixed PDF versions; operate links you choose to share; review and respond to Contact Us and feedback messages; and meet legal or security obligations. Contact messages are not copied into accident records.
Your sharing choices
You choose the sections included in a PDF or private share link, the recipient or purpose label, and the expiration date. Medical and insurance sections are off by default. You can revoke an active link. NowAccident does not automatically send a link for you.
Consumer-record separation
We do not sell accident records. Accident records, health or insurance notes, Case File activity, and sharing activity are not transferred to a separate business service, used to order business display, or disclosed to businesses for direct contact.
Service providers and required disclosures
We may use hosting, security, authentication, and email providers only as needed to operate their part of the service. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or others.
Cookies and measurement
WordPress may use session and security cookies for sign-in. NowAccident uses a non-identifying first-party marker to count a browser once in the public cumulative-use total. The marker contains no browser identifier, IP address, accident data, or account data.
Retention and deletion
Browser drafts remain on the device until the browser or user removes them. Account records remain until the account owner deletes them or asks Accilabs to remove them, subject to limited backup, fraud-prevention, security, or legal retention needs. Expired or revoked share links stop providing access. Contact records are kept only as reasonably necessary to handle the inquiry and meet legal obligations.
Security
We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards appropriate to the service. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep login credentials and private share links confidential.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your account. Applicable law may provide additional rights. We may need to verify the request before acting.
Children
NowAccident is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly request account information from them. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information should contact us.
Changes
We will post a revised effective date when this policy materially changes.
